Thank you so much for you advice and tips. I plan on getting into repairing things for others and have several already requesting to fixe controllers for them.

I make sure to let them know that I am new to this but that I would be willing to try. I also let them know That I will be informng them what repair parts I believe I need to repair the device be for I purchase it and give them the option to see if they would like me to go head with the repair. I haven’t gotten anyone’s devices quite yet but there is been a lot of request when I posted that I just wanted to purchase broken items to try to repair them. For some reason they keep asking me to repair what they have, even though I made it clear in my post that I am trying to learn how to repair them that is why I want to buy them to practice.

@hobbit666 Thank you so much for looking that up for me I will check it out.

I have a Parco PA-5FLX-IFR07 Trinocular Lockable Zoom Stereo Microscope. Contacted the owner directly via a recommendation from someone I trust on a Facebook group. Got it for $440 shipped from Canada to USA. Love it so far. Super bright and clear picture. I was thinking that I would have to spend a lot more to get a good scope. Hope this helps someone as much as it helped me. Cant wait to get started doing some real work! It’s on Amazon as well, but its about $45 more expensive there. Did have to buy a 48mm 0.7 barlow lens to get it to work with my desk/chair height. The 0.5x lens requires too much height.

All these trinocular microscopes are the same and originate from the same factory in China, they may have slight differences in the stands which come with them but other than that, Parco, Amscope, Eakins etc etc are all the exact same…

People with Amscopes may disagree but I’ve used both and theyr’e the same… I think if I paid 5X the cost I’d pretend my model is somehow better

you can get them over on Aliexpress delivered with a basic stand for 160GBP

And just in case anyones wondering the lower quality binocular microscopes (the ones with the odd non standard objective lenses) are the exact same between Amscope and Swift etc etc

Severence, I tend to agree with your statement.

I will add this to my original comments. For me, what made getting the Parco such a good experience is that I was able to actually talk to the guy. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. It was worth perhaps paying a little more to have someone I could be confident would help me quickly resolve any issues that may have come during the purchase. When I got the scope (I am totally new to all this and this is my first) and I ran into a few hiccups getting everything dialed in, I had someone willing to quickly answer my questions and even shoot and send a quick video explaining what to do. Also I know image quality can vary some, so being confident your going to get bright and clear optics is also good IMHO. I was nervous about shelling out what might as well be $500. I felt extremely well taken care of, and that meant so much to me. I am not sure how service may stack up on like Alie or Bangood. If anyone is a newbie out there like me and heavily debating getting a scope, its a solid investment and a game changer for sure. You likely wont regret it.
