Charges only with official charger

Hi.

After USB port and P13USB replacement, it seems the switch only charges with official charger.

Any other charger stays at 5V 0 amp.

What can be the cause?

Any help appreciated.

an open line most likely, you can check continuity using a USB breakout board and check points to destinations to see. If you find it is an open line then it would indicate your soldering of the USB is not good or pads were damaged and you should look into pulling the USB port and trying again after verifcation :+1:

Thanks for your precious help.

I already tested all continuity and diode values with this USB breadboard, using this schematic, everything is fine and there is also no short between all the pins.

When i say test continuity to the destinations, i just want to clarify that I don’t mean just to the back of the USB pins (or TP) but rather, to the actual IC destinations (where possible) ie. M92 IC, P13 IC, diodes, etc just to ensure you don’t have a break in the trace or open vias (usually caused by layer delamination due to over rework of said IC;s) . Did you do this?

As you’ve determined here and in the other thread, taking diode mode reading is almost a pointless exercise

If all seems fine then best guess would be possible M92 issues or M92 support circuitry at fault. Which could be a variety of things such as the M92 IC being bad / poorly soldered, a missing or poorly soldered resistor relating to it (for example) , bad fets, diodes etc

Thanks for your help Severance.
It seemed to be a bad solder of VCC pin beside the USB port, strange thing is that I had a correct diode reading.

Cheers!
