ok so I just checked and indeed the 5v is present when the console is turned on (I checked at the 4-point connector of the reader. Now I do not explain why certain reader does not work (do not swallow the cd, but starts the console card number 3 or 4) and suddenly I have the error su-101312-8 While others with card 1 work, do the update, but give "disk not compatible. "I have of course checked cards 3 or 4 and I haven’t found anything preventing them from working.
If the 25pin flat data cable not having good connection between mainboard and disc drive(daughter board), disc drive would stop taking/injecting disc as well.
yes I know that but it’s not the case. The cable works perfectly and the connector is in good condition, I tested the pins.
I can not follow…
in the beginning you had one PS5 with a disc drive, which is not the disc drive which came original with this PS5.
We figured out that the disc drive is reading DVDs but on PS5 game disc refuse to prosses data with the error ‘disk not compatible’.
A perfomed update was surprisingly possible, without the error su-101213-8, which normally apear if someone updates a PS5 with a false or faulty disc drive.
Our conclusion: The disc drive is not the correct one.
My question is: Where is the original disc drive which came with this PS5?
hello calvin
To answer your question, the correct reader is with another, unscrupulous repairer who made the console “non-repairable” and took the opportunity to exchange the readers. I’m trying to get it back but so far without success.
Obviously updating the PS5 is possible with a reader equipped with a card with a number 1. I have done it on several consoles successfully.
That is for me the surprising point here in this whole threat.
I assumed that in the process of update, it is checked that the disc drive is the married one. And if not, the update stops and the error su-101213-8 is shown on the screen.
My question here in general:
Is the check at an update only for the presents of a disc drive and not for the correct one?
To answer your question Calvin, you need a reader. But I can’t explain why the update takes place with certain cards and not with others. The fact that some readers work proves, for me, that the card is working correctly and vice versa. Unfortunately I was unable to recover the correct drive
To continue trying to understand, I have some questions. When I turn on the console I have the 2 voltages (12 and 5 v) on the reader card after the connector. But where do these tensions go and what purpose do they serve?
THANKS
The 12V are for the mechanics. The 5V are for the logic.
