Fully working Dualshock 4 but no charging light (other lights work)

I have searched far and wide for a solution to this issue that I have had come up on something like 4 different controllers, both version 1 and 2.
The controller works fine, it charges, it connects and shows the correct light when connected. But, when charging there is no yellow light, no light at all.

Any idea what causes this?

The issue seems to be solely when connecting the device to a PC, when connecting those controllers to a Playstation 4 the yellow charging light seems to come on as usual.
Still no luck on PC though.
