OLED - M92T36, USB C replaced. Boots but does not take charge

Previously, I was getting a 2101-001 error, console not starting.

-Replaced the M92T36 and the USB C,

  • console starts, however, it doesn’t take charge.

  • Flipping the USBC cable over sometimes shows the charge icon but it doesn’t actually take any charge.

I’m stumped, not sure how to proceed. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

show your charge port breakout board pin diode readings.

I don’t have a charge breakout unfortunately. Any way I can do it with a multimeter or am I going to have to order one?
Thanks.

Just another thing I noticed. While it’s off, when I plug or unplug the charger, it shows the red battery symbol in the display.

you likely need to rework both m92 and port.

Just redid them both to no avail. Still the same.

Hi,
I am in you exact situation right now, after replacing the MT chip switch Is booting fine, it charged for a while but now it is not getting charged anymore but it still can boot fine… I’m going to rework the MT in the weekend…

Ultimately at this point it may just be worth replacing the motherboard as a whole. Are they serialized?- as in, can I replace them without having to worry about pairing issues such as with an iphone?

Hi, I fixed it by changing the M92 with another one! The one I soldered was faulty even if it was advised as brand new! Maybe check your soldering or try to swap another m92?

Alright I’ll order another one and give it a go so

I would advise you to also buy the usbc breakout board with 24 pins as you can get it for few euros and it is useful to check if the usbc port you soldered might be the culprit of your problem

I should really get one. Thanks mate.
