PS4 got the CE-34335-8 error

Hi, my friend’s ps4 shows CE-34335-8 error and I need to replace the HDD with a new SSD! I know how to reinstall ps4 operating system on new ssd but the question is, How can I backup data from the damaged HDD when the ps4 won’t boot up? Is it possible to back it up by PC?

Each PS4 encrypt its data. You can try to clone the old HDD onto a new SSD. But if it fails, I see no chances to access the old HDD data.

I would start with pluging the HDD with an adapter to a pc and check with CrystalDiskInfo the state of the HDD.

Is CrystalDiskinfo an app to check Hard drives?

Yes. It is a little program which reads out the SMART Data of a HDD and gives an overview of its state.

Hi again Calvin!

I did what you said took out the HDD and connect it to the PC then checked it with CrystalDiskInfo! First of all the HDD made a continuous sound of the disc hitting the body while spinning and when connected CrystalDiskInfo hardly could recognize the disc and eventually showed (BAD) in the status!
Well I know I have to replace it with a new SSD and I know how to install a new PS4 OP! But if I install new ssd it would delete everything on the console! How can I backup things on the damaged HDD? Is there any way to do that?
