PS5 disc drive issue (drive was recently replaced by UbreakIfix)

Hey everyone,

I have a PS5 that was repaired by UbreakIfix back in April. It worked fine after getting the console back, and I played quite a bit until around July/August when life got busy. I have a long weekend from both of my jobs this weekend and was looking forward to gaming a little. When I turned on my PS5, it said I needed to update. Prior to starting the update, I removed the copy of Spider-Man I left in the console from when I played last as I intended to play something different. The disc drive is now spinning every 20ish seconds, and the update failed to install. My PS5 is now stuck in safe mode and will not update. The repair that was done in April was the disc drive was replaced. I’m dumbfounded the console just quit working. It’s just been sitting on my entertainment center. Nothing near it and it has not fallen or anything. Any advice?

Have you tried installing any physical copy/disc game after the repalcement?

Yes, I was able to install multiple disc based games to the console. Now when I put a disc in, it spits it right out

Open it and try to reconnect both side of the flat disc drive data cable
