Switch with no video output

Hi there ppl. I beg your help because I’ve already tried a bunch of things twice or even thrice.
This V2 Switch came with a previously replaced USB-c, weird looking white-ish residues (I fear liquid damage) and as the cherry on the top, the chassis is bended (board looks fine though).

It charges perfectly from both sides, tablet screen goes black, dock turns green and the TV can recognize it is in fact a Switch.
Also, tried to connect the console backwards with a disassembled dock, same behavior on both sides.

  • Already changed usb-c port three times just in case. No damaged pins so far
  • Double checked every choke filter around PI3USB, they all read ok.
  • Replaced PI3USB chip 2 times. One of those coming from a working Switch.
  • Replaced M92T36
  • No shorted caps around PI3USB or M92T36
  • Found a picture of expected voltage around PI2USB and every 3 V point seems fine

That’s what I tried so far. Can anyone else think of something?
Also, found a comment in a forum saying that replacing BQ24193 could help, but as far as I know it wouldn’t turn on or charge in that case.

Hmmm, out of curiosity have you checked the filters on the front of the board? There is one north of the port that can catch you out.

You would benefit from a USB breakout board here for some diode readings, then you can track the issue via Erista pinout datasheets.

Also, it might be worth checking the HDMI cable. You never know!

Thanks for answering. It got even more weird today.

It works in the dock again!
BUT now it won’t charge, at all. Changed BQ charge IC and is the same.

Installed picofly to test power input and the interesting thing is that it actually recognizes it is connected to a USB supply, even lists PD modes but won’t charge.

Any ideas?
