Type-C USB Cables

Hello, new here,

Just curious, if you can repair Type-C USB cables…

After so many uses, the pins within the cable disconnect, usually due to overheating, so it makes sense, but after buying so many replacements you begin to wonder: can they be fixed?

I’m not sure if anyone has tried to, but if itself possible with solder and a hot iron I would invest myself and start doing this asap.

The companies that sell these cables, seem like they set them up for failure from the start of conception and virtually force people to keep buying them over and over.

If you think about it, depending on what type you buy, that will start adding up to a lot, so I’m wondering if there is a workaround or not to this endless cycle?

Appreciate any feedback.

What are you powering, that the contacts inside your usb c connector are melting/disconnecting due to heat?
