Bought a xbox one s from offer up. Buyer said it worked perfect nothing wrong and sent a video of it working. Brought home hooked it up and turns on and stay on but stays on black screen. Buyer deleted offer up account.
Sounds like a problem with the HDMI port or circuits to it. I guess that you are not used to hotair stations and microsoldering?
Yeah no ive never done anytbing like that. But ive always taken apart my xboxs to clean them every once in awhile
Get rid of dust is always a good thing. At the newer consoles even more, because less efficient cooling, due to even slightly dust build, could lead to overheating issues… Thanks to max overclocked APUs…
Mostly the problems with HDMI are not a cleaning problem. Because your Xbox is still turning on, I guess there is a problem with the port itself or the lines to it. In both cases I assume need micro soldering skills.
You can check if the port itself is loose (many times I saw the inner part broke loose and than ripped the pins from thier pads)

Hold the power and eject button when you start the console until it beeps, this resets resolution to 640x480 if the screen then comes up its likely the retimer chip, if its still black then probably HDMI issue
